the Corn
In June, the full Sagittarius moon coincides with the year’s
only occurrence of Friday the 13th. The Sun will be in Gemini, and four
planets — Mercury, Saturn, Pluto, and Neptune — will be in retrograde. Expect
magic and the unexpected.
Be sure to complete all projects, especially those with a high risk factor, before the moon enters
Capricorn and meets up with Pluto.
Moon Magic
This moon lends itself to two types of magic:
Love Magic
Fridays belong to Venus, the Goddess of Love. One name for
the June Full Moon is the Rose Moon, and roses are a potent addition to any
love magic. Coat a pink candle in virgin olive oil and the petals from a
freshly picked pink rose (or red rose if you desire a more passionate love). As
you light the candle, tell the Universe your heart is open to a new love
relationship and recite the qualities you value in a mate. Ask Mother Moon to
aid you in your quest.
Tarot Magic
Death is the 13th card in the major arcana. Despite its
often macabre appearance, the Death card symbolizes new beginnings. Place the
Death card on your personal altar where it will receive direct or indirect
(through a window) moonlight. (Or sit in the moonlight while holding the Death
card.) Meditate on what new beginning you would like to foster, and what you
may need to release in order to start anew.
